Hallville Community Park update

166

Residents of Hallville have been patiently waiting for years for a promised new park. This spring, they can hope to finally see progress on the project begin.

In response to a question from a resident, Councillor Matthew Uhrig confirmed that phases 1 and 2 of the Hallville Community Park will begin construction “later this spring”, and that “efforts will continue throughout the summer and fall”.

Phase 1 of the project will see a pathway, culvert, and retaining wall added on the north side of the park property. Phase 2 will see the construction of a pathway along County Road 1, as well as a pedestrian crossing and an entranceway and parking lot. This second phase will also add two of the park’s anticipated amenities: the junior playground, and an ice rink/multi-use space. Residents of Hallville are undoubtedly eager to enjoy their new recreation space.

The Township’s “Let’s Connect” page has updates posted on the Hallville Community Park project, the most recent updates (as of the time of writing) having been posted in November of 2023. These updates are in regard to the process by which the Township had residents vote on different potential designs, giving residents a chance to have their say in what the park would look like, and what amenities it would have.
