Questions for Candidates for Councillor:

What are your top three priorities for the coming four years of Council?

1) My number one priority is investing in our infrastructure – it requires repair with the highest priority being our roads.

2) Investment in housing – We have a shortage of not only housing but affordable housing for all age brackets

3) Emergency services –  with major legislation changes on the horizon,  investment in emergency services is going to be crucial as well as developing a long-term plan moving forward to ensure the safety and protection of our residents

How have municipal priorities changed since the last term of the Council?

I don’t believe the priorities of the municipality have changed so much as that Covid created some major difficulties and unique situations for the previous council to work around and we need to move forward past that

What would you bring to Council this term that hasn’t been there previously?

I feel that I have a well rounded background as I grew up in an agricultural environment.  As a former non-for profit housing board member, I feel I have a strong understanding of our housing shortage and ideas to find solutions, also with my background in telecommunications, I am hoping to help us develop a plan to bring high-speed to all residents in North Dundas

Do you think more can be done to involve the community in the affairs of Council and being part of the decision-making process?

I believe council needs to set up additional committees in order to get not only input but also involvement of all residents of North Dundas

How do you think future development in North Dundas – infrastructure, economic, environmental – should be directed?

I personally believe that economic development will be the solution for North Dundas. As we continue to grow as a community, we will need to expand our tax base and hopefully bring new industry to our community
